A year has passed since the opening of our new consultation in Benidorm. And we are very pleased with the welcome and the comments that our patients have made about us. Our work in Benidorm is giving the city a concept which is completely new in this field. We are a centre with surgeons who are not subcontracted by another company, we are the owners. Additionally, we do not have sales people selling products as our philosophy goes against the use of surgery or medicine as a sale, but as a service to society.

When you visit a company where the surgeons are subcontracted, you are exposed to those surgeons being here today but not tomorrow. It is not their company. It is someone else’s. Therefore their interest is purely commercial, as long as he is compensated or it is within his interest, he will continue to work in that company. As soon as he finds something better, he will go (this is because surgeons are not paid much when there are partners in the background that demand profits). They are also usually younger surgeons with very little experience and therefore they quickly get offered something better, and when you realise it, you go to a revision and the person who operated on you isn’t there and you don’t know who to turn to. This is of course if it all went well because if they don’t have experience, the results are not the desired ones as they are learning and improving their technique with you.

Having no sales reps on staff, assures that the treatment is not a sale. All sales reps in the world work on commission. And where there’s commission, there’s interest in the sale. These sales people are people who have been given a brief course of what a blepharoplasty is for example, without having any idea what they are talking about because they are very far from being doctors (they are usually people with very limited academic training) they tell you that the best thing you can do for your face is have an eyelid surgery. Bravo!

Obviously it is in our interest to work and for patients to carry out treatments with us. But our training is medical. We have taken a Hippocratic Oath and to be a Plastic Surgeon we have had to study for 12 years. And this is not as they say, an accelerated course. We want you to be satisfied. Because we are surgeons and we always will be and it is a profession where prestige is everything. And this is earned, patient after patient. Surgery after surgery, treatment after treatment. Battling against the complications and being a friend to our patients. Because we are the ones behind the name that is in the window, not a franchise or a commercial company.

We have a goal. Be an example in Benidorm. Be an example of confidence and good deeds. Of sincerity. Of the care that we put into everything we do.
