The Bichat Balls are structures that we have in our face, whos mission is to cushion when chewing.

People who want to have a less round face, more triangular, are good candidates to remove the fat. After an incision that is done inside the mouth, in a very precise point, near to the exit of the conduct of the parotid gland, the bag is quickly found. Then we extract 2-3 cubic centimetres of this fat. We will put 1 or 2 stitches inside, which as you salívate they will dissolve, and do not need to be removed.

The day of surgery

The Bichat balls surgery is a simple surgery that after a mínimum incision inside the mouth the fat is extracted. They put a stitch where the incision is, a stitch that will dissolve. Its usually done under local anesthesia with sedation, as the local anesthesia can be done, but is very uncomfortable. After the surgery, the patient can go straight home and run a normal life. You can eat and drink as normal. Once the surgery is over, your surgeon will explain what you need to do. Its necessary that you take antibiotics and also an anti-inflammatory. If you can apply coldness to the cheeks, during four or five days, this can be usefull and very recommended. They will also explain what to do with the dressings and how to keep the wounds dry.

Check ups

All of the revisions until given the all clear are included in the quote given. The patients have their first revisión 48-72 hrs after having left the hospital. The next visit is one week after surgery, then at 2 weeks, one month, 3 months and six months, plus any other time needed until given the all clear. All of the check ups and cures are done by our plastic surgeons. Dedicating all of the time necessary to make you feel looked after and guided at all times. You will be given a telephone number to be able to contact us at any time whenever you need us, also in English. In the case that the patient is from a foreign country, the frequency of the check ups, are exactly the same, but obviously needed to be done telematically.
