Logically it depends on the type of work the patient has. It is important to avoid stressful situations after a surgery as it increases the possibility of bleeding. If you work in front of a computer for many hours, seven days is usually enough. On many occasions in three or four days you can return to work.

You can go to the beach or the pool from the moment that the wounds are completely closed which is usually within two weeks

You can exercise a month after the surgery.

We recommend that you sleep on your back after surgery with your head elevated.

You can go out in the sun, not direct sunlight, after the stitches have been removed, which is usually after 7 days, but always wearing sunglasses. You can travel perfectly on an aeroplane after the surgery.

You can use glasses immediately after the surgery. If you use lenses, we recommend that you do not use them for three weeks.

After the surgery you will be irritated. It will not be pain, but irritation. You will have the sensation of tension and dryness of the skin. You will take medication for the pain which means that you will have more irritation at bed time, from the antibiotic etc. which will provoke discomfort more than pain.

The scar of an upper blepharoplasty coincides with the natural fold of the upper eyelids and after a few days it is practically imperceptible. The lower eyelid coincides a millimetre underneath the eyelashes so is also imperceptible after a short while. With the passing of time it improves greatly and becomes practically invisible. However, multiple treatments exist which improve the final results of scars such as silicon patches, rosehip oil, creams, laser, etc. etc. although most of the patients do not require any additional treatment due to the quality of them.

You should avoid taking aspirin or any other medication which provokes anticoagulation. Let us know if you usually take vitamin supplements or medicinal plants. Some make the blood coagulate more slowly.

You should lubricate the eye before going to sleep with a cream and also drops.

In general, we recommend any surgical intervention from 18 years and over, but in the case of eyelids, in most cases, and apart from young people with prominent bags in the lower lids, it is performed on people over 40 years old.

Whenever you think it is convenient and you can see that you can do it without effort, but in general we recommend that you do not read for a few days. The television, the next day as normal.
